Emmanuel’s Historical Timeline

  • 1890

    Pastor Herman Meyer 1890 to 1891

    Pastor John H. Ehler 1890 to 1891

    In 1890, twenty-two members signed the Emmanuel charter.

    Pastor Samuel Hoernicke 1891 to 1912

    In September 1910, Emmanuel opened a Lutheran day school which remained open for two years.

    Pastor Karl Thiede 1912 to 1922

    Emmanuel observed it's 25th anniversary on March 7, 1929.

  • 1922-1957

    Pastor Edward J. Rudnick 1922 to 1947

    Greatest period of growth. Church on Mariposa dedicated on Oct. 16, 1929. Claudine Steinhauer, a current member of Emmanuel's congregation was confirmed by Pastor Rudnick. Emmanuel Lutheran School re-opened in 1937 with twenty-seven students.

    Pastor Oscar H. Reinboth 1946 to 1949

    Became pastor after death of Pastor Rudnick. Left after three years to work for the district.

    Pastor John P. Ulhig 1949 to 1959

    Pastor Donald Broeske 1957 to 1958 (Associate for Mission Work)

    Pastor Ulhig installed August 1949. Mission church started and became Peace Lutheran. By the fall of 1957 Emmanuel's school had an enrollment of 97 students.

  • 1958-1994

    Pastor Egon Gebauer 1959 to 1969

    Church on Floradora built under Pastor Gebauer. His funeral was the first service celebrated in the new church.

    Pastor Stanley Quebe 1970 to 1982

    Pastor Clarence Eisberg 1973 to 1978 (Youth Pastor)

    Pastor Milton Schemm 1982 to 1996

    Pastor John Brunette 1987 to 1990 (Associate)

    Pastor Karl Anderson 1991 to 1994 (Associate)

  • 1995 - Today

    Pastor Harvey Johnson 1996 to 1998

    Special service and social for elder members.

    Pastor Bruce A. Neff 1998 to 2006

    Pastor Neff's calling was to move the church and the planning for building our current church. He served at several temporary locations during the completion of the new church.

    Pastor Bill Heidel 2006-2007 (Vacancy Pastor)

    Pastor Jerry Barnhart 2007-2009 (Intentional Interim)

    Pastor Barnhart role as an intentional interim pastor was to assist the congregation to develop a unified ministry in its new location of Clovis and to prepare for the next pastor.

    Pastor Ed Krueger 2009-2022.

    Associate Pastor, Matthew Gulseth, 2016-2017

    Pastor Dan Hues is called to serve as as Pastor - 2022

  • 125th Anniversary

    100th Anniversary celebrated on April 28, 1990. Special events for those baptized, confirmed or married at Emmanuel. Increased membership and expansion of the music program. Pre-school and day-care started in the Parish Hall which remained open until 1989.
